I was always that kid doing funny voices, playing with the tape recorder, singing and having fun with cartoons and superheroes. Growing up in the East End of Toronto was an experience. My Mom and my teachers gave me opportunities to explore these traits (likely easier than trying to stifle me, I suppose. LOL)
Much of that was to cover up my shy nature. School band & choir, drama clubs, local volunteer organizations and the like were great places to release all that energy. Music was always a part of that but, with no aptitude for instruments (except for Tuba), I sang and did the morning announcements.
AND THEN, JUST LIKE THAT, I GREW UP…
High School was filled with opportunities and, after school, looking to find my place, I took a chance and put my talents in popular music and customer service into action and began a long time career as a mobile disk jockey and, after reconnecting with an old friend, spent the next 35+ years as one of the most successful DJ services in Southern Ontario while also working in the computer administration and service businesses. I was also called upon to do some public speaking, motivational, informational and fun, introduce musical acts as, what my friends called the "Voice Of God" and recording funny audio for friends.
Taking all of that and putting it together, Voice Over seemed a logical step and it is proving very satisfying and fulfilling for me and beneficial and, dare I say, profitable for my customers.
